World Down Syndrome Day for 3 successive years:

World Down Syndrome Awareness Day 2013 :

Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders and Hereditary Diseases Department have celebrated World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) on March 21st, 2013 under the patronage of the Daughter of Jeddah City Governor HE Dr. Hany Abu Ras as the celebration included several events such as provision of medical and cultural stations to perform initial examination on the syndrome kids as well as provision of advice to their families about methods of treatment, prevention, and avoiding complications in addition to syndrome kids skills presentation, and entertainment shows. The events of that day were attended by around 700 persons.

World Down Syndrome Awareness Day 2012:

Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders and Hereditary Diseases Department celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st, 2012 as the celebration included several events such as syndrome kids’ skills presentation, and Down syndrome painting workshop. Number of suffering kids has presented a play performance and also one of them has recited some of Holy Quran verses and others presented anthems and poems and that received the appeal of everyone.

World Down Syndrome Awareness Day 2011:

Under patronage of Faculty of Medicine Dean Dr. Mohammed Shahin Al Ahwal, Princess Al-Jawhara Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders has organized an awareness day on Down syndrome on May 4th, 2011. It included several events such as cultural and awareness lectures about the syndrome in addition to participation of Down syndrome patient kids enrolled in rehabilitation centers (Al Oun Center, Badaghesh Center) who performed entertainment plays, then the ceremony patron awarded the participating kids.

الأيام العلمية لاضطرابات القلب الوراثية :

يحرص المركز على إقامة ملتقيات علمية دورية لمناقشة آخر المستجدات في أمراض اضطرابات القلب الوراثية ومشاركة المتخصصين وقد أقيمت أول ورشة في عام 2013 م

اليوم العلمي الأول لاضطرابات القلب الوراثية :

أقام مركز الأميرة الجوهرة البراهيم للتميز البحثي في الأمراض الوراثية يوماً لأمراض القلب الوراثية بتاريخ 7/2/2011م ، يتضمن زيارة محاضرين مختصين في مجال أمراض القلب وإلقائهم لمحاضرات على ضيوف ومنسوبي المركز .

اليوم العلمي الثاني لاضطرابات القلب الوراثية :

برعاية من سعادة عميد كليّة الطب الأستاذ الدكتور محمود شاهين الأحول أقام مركز الأميرة الجوهرة للتميز البحثي في الأمراض الوراثية ورشة عمل حول اضطرابات القلب الوراثية : الأسباب والعلاج وذلك في 26 فبراير 2012 م ، حيث ألقى عدد من الباحثين المتخصصين محاضراتهم في قاعة المحاضرات بفندق راديسون بلو ، وكان من أبرز المشاركين أ.د. آرثر وايلد من هولندا و د.زاهر بُهيان من سويسرا و د.شهجان علي من جامعة الملك عبدالله للعلوم والتقنية و د.لورا أندرام من دبي وغيرهم من المشاركات المحلية .

اليوم العلمي الثالث لاضطرابات القلب الوراثية :

أقام مركز الأميرة الجوهرة البراهيم للتميز البحثي في الأمراض الوراثية اليوم العلمي الثالث لاضطرابات القلب الوراثية وذلك في 27 يناير 2014 م والذي أقيم في قاعة المحاضرات الرئيسية بالمستشفى الجامعي برعاية من سعادة عميد كلية الطب الأستاذ الدكتور محمود شاهين الأحول ومشاركة من علماء واستشاريي أمراض القلب الوراثية من داخل وخارج المملكة.

Social Cultural Events:

On basis on society service, Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders sees that one of its roles is the participation in conferences and social forums held to discuss the families problems originating from hereditary diseases and disabilities in addition to conferences included the other recent matters in services provided to this category of the society.

DNA Day

Princess AlJawhara Center of Excellence in collaboration with the Department of Genetic Medicine has organized an event this year for the annual celebration of DNA day on April 25th, 2017. The event included different educational stations to spread awareness about the DNA and its discovery and the evolution of genetics in the medical field.

Nabdah Event:

Princess AlJawhara Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary disorders participated in Nabdah event to spread the awareness on heart diseases and how to prevent their occurrence. The event was held on the 28th -29th of March, 2017, in the Hilton hotel, AL Qasr hall. The event aimed to, spread awareness on Cardiac disorders and the risks they present on the society, to identify the signs of getting a heart attack, to learn the means of management and to know when to visit the physician, the importance of having a healthy life-style to prevent cardiac diseases from occurring and to educate the society of the different heart regulating devices (pacemakers).

3rd Lab Week Events in King Abdulaziz University Hospital:

Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders participated in the events of society service in King Abdulaziz University Hospital sponsored by HE Dean of Faculty of Medicine in the University Prof. Mahmoud bin Shahen Al Ahwal that was held to introduce the role of society service in raising patients’ awareness in September 2014.

Lecture of Director of the Center to the International American School for Girls in Jeddah:

Upon the invitation of Young Girls Association founded by team of International American School for Girls in Jeddah, Dr. Jumana Al Aama, Director of Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders gave a lecture to the school students about her job and success as well as obstacles that she faced and how she managed to overcome the same, as an assistance from her side to the girl students and to encourage them to start their careers on March 6th, 2011.

Events of 3rd Lab Week in King Abdulaziz University Hospital:

Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders participated in the events of 3rd Lab Week in King Abdulaziz University Hospital under the patronage of HE Dean of Faculty of Medicine Dr. Mahmoud bin Shahen Al Ahwal held between 10-12 May 2010 in order to identify the vital role of labs in diseases diagnosis.

Lecture on Dealing Children with Developmental Differences:

Dr. Jumana Al Aamagave gave a lecture about dealing with children with developmental differences in 1st Makkah Conference for Pediatrics that was hold in Noor Specialized Hospital in Makkah on 2-3 June 2009.

Participation in the 3rd Scientific Forum for Special Upbringing “Promising Vision”:

Dr. Jumana Al Aama participated in a lecture titled “Autism Genetic Reasons” in the 3rd Scientific Forum for Special Upbringing “Promising Vision” that was held in honor of HE Director of King Abdulaziz University Professor Usama bin Sadeq Taeb on March 21st, 2010.

Lecture in Al Oun Center:

Dr. Jumana Al Aama gave a lecture in the name of Princess Al-Jawhara Albrahim Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders in the 4th conference in Al Oun Center on 26-28 January 2009 in Jeddah. She addressed the mental disability and the affecting genetic factors in addition to the role of hereditary guidance. The lecture was followed by a prolonged discussion about that critical topic.

Participation in Gulf Woman Exhibit:

The center participated in Gulf Woman Exhibit that was held on 22-27 April 2009 in honor of the Wife of HH prince of Makkah Region, Princess Anoud bint Abdullah bin Mohammed Abdurrahman Al Saud which was organized by Al Eman for Social Services and Cancer Patients Care Association / Women branch under the patronage of Ms. Jawhara Al Anqary in Jeddah International Exhibition and convention Center.
