Abstract
:
Abstract. To answer the question, the characters and properties of mutual and commercial insurance are surveyed, and compared with Islamic mutual (composed) insurance model. The finding is that, the Islamic insurance model as practiced is a commercial insurance; its business is to exchange the risk for a premium, the difference between them is artificial to fulfil the Islamic restrictions on insurance activity. The research also find that risk is higher in Islamic model since the insured will bear the risk of the investment of the premiums and insufficient to pay the loss.
