Abstract : The Islamic Economics Centre (IEC) at Khartoum International University aims at achieving the objectives of the University by conducting distinguished and up-to-date modern researches in the field of banking and financial studies from an Islamic perspective. These studies are designed in such a way that keeps the contents of Islamic ingredients, contributing at the same time in the development of the country, and developing the capabilities that instil the experiment of Islamic Banking (IB) that have started in Sudan and other Arab countries in the mid-seventies of the twentieth Century. The IEC was established and started its operations in 2003. It has received a welcoming reception from the Central Bank of Sudan as well as co-operation from the banking sector of the country. The IEC conducted various training and workshop programs. The IEC consists of many units such as the unit of research and development, and the unit of training and the unit consultation. These units help the IEC to accomplish its mission. Besides the aforementioned programs, the IEC has supervised the design of curricula courses for teaching Islamic Economics at the Bachelor and Master levels.
